On August 25–26, 2026, GBOS was invited to attend the New Balance Smart Lean Workshop 2026 in Vietnam, joining leading contract manufacturers from Vietnam, China, and Indonesia, along with a select group of technology and equipment suppliers.
The two-day workshop brought together industry leaders to discuss one increasingly important question: How can manufacturers improve efficiency, quality, and responsiveness in an increasingly competitive manufacturing environment?
For GBOS, the event was more than an industry gathering. It was an opportunity to listen, observe, and gain a deeper understanding of how lean manufacturing is evolving across Vietnam and the wider Southeast Asian market.
01 From “Lean Thinking” to Real-World Manufacturing
Over the two days, factory representatives shared practical experiences from their lean manufacturing journeys, while invited suppliers presented new technologies and solutions designed to improve production efficiency.
Participants also visited model factories to see how lean principles are being applied on the shop floor.
What stood out was the focus on real manufacturing challenges.
The discussions were not limited to theories or concepts. Instead, they centered on the issues manufacturers deal with every day—cost control, production lead times, labor efficiency, quality consistency, and the ability to respond quickly to changing orders.
For GBOS, this was perhaps the most valuable takeaway from the workshop: seeing where the industry is heading and understanding what factories will need next.
02 Intelligent Equipment and Localized Service: Two Sides of Lean Manufacturing
Across Southeast Asia, manufacturing is gradually moving from a “capacity-driven” model toward an “efficiency-driven” one.
Rising labor and material costs, increasingly fragmented orders, shorter delivery cycles, and growing quality expectations are putting greater pressure on manufacturers.
Under these conditions, simply adding more labor or production capacity is no longer enough.
Lean manufacturing is becoming a necessity rather than an optional competitive advantage.
But achieving lean production is not simply a matter of adopting a new management philosophy. It requires a practical system that can be implemented and sustained on the factory floor.
That means intelligent equipment and reliable local support must work together.
This is also the logic behind GBOS’s long-term commitment to the Vietnamese market.
Through its localized service network, GBOS aims to provide more than equipment. The partnership extends across the entire implementation process—from installation and commissioning to operator training, maintenance, and continuous optimization.
For GBOS, delivering a machine is only the beginning.
The real value of intelligent manufacturing technology is created when it translates into lower production costs, higher efficiency, more consistent quality, and measurable improvements on the shop floor.
03 Bringing “Made-in-China Intelligence” to Southeast Asia
Lean manufacturing is not a short-term project. It is a continuous journey that requires patience, consistency, and long-term commitment.
As Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asian region continue to strengthen their manufacturing capabilities, factories are increasingly looking for technology partners that can grow with them—not simply suppliers that deliver equipment and leave.
GBOS is committed to being one of those long-term partners.
From intelligent cutting solutions to localized technical support, GBOS will continue working alongside manufacturers across Southeast Asia to help turn digital and intelligent technologies into practical improvements in everyday production.
The journey toward lean manufacturing is a marathon, not a sprint.
And GBOS is ready to run it together with the industry—bringing trusted “Made-in-China Intelligence” to the manufacturing floors of Southeast Asia.
