From September 1–3, 2026, the China International Leather Exhibition (ACLE) was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

ACLE 2026

As a global benchmark for the leather industry, ACLE gathered over 1,000 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions, highlighting green and low-carbon practices, functional materials, and intelligent equipment while showcasing the latest technological achievements across the leather value chain. It serves as a key business platform for discovering new materials, innovative processes, and smart manufacturing solutions.

GBOS exhibited its One-Stop Hub | Digital Cutting x Craft Intelligence solution at Booth W1-E15a, engaging with industry peers to explore practical pathways for the transformation of intelligent leather manufacturing.

01 What Industry Challenges Are Traditional Models Facing?

Leather manufacturing is facing multiple real-world challenges:

• Rising raw material costs;
• Orders trending toward smaller batches and greater fragmentation;
• A growing shortage of skilled workers, with production still heavily reliant on the experience of veteran craftsmen;
• Manual visual inspection and hand-marking of defects, which can easily lead to missed or misjudged flaws and result in leather waste;
• Defects entering downstream processes, causing losses in both materials and labor time. Even with increased order volumes, enterprise profitability does not necessarily rise proportionally.

ACLE 2026

Relying solely on expanding the workforce can no longer resolve the inherent tension among efficiency, quality, and cost.

The industry urgently needs to move beyond experience-driven practices and adopt practical, technology-enabled upgrade solutions.

02 Digital Reconstruction of the Leather Production Workflow

At the booth, GBOS showcased its comprehensive digital leather processing solution through live demonstrations of:

• AI-powered hide inspection;
• Intelligent nesting;
• AI VisionScan system-based cutting;
• Innovative laser-based processes.

ACLE 2026

The AI-powered hide inspection system leverages advanced algorithms to perform hide contour scanning, defect recognition, and grade classification in alignment with SATRA International Standards, generating structured electronic hide data.

Integrated with GBOS’s ITS3 Intelligent Nesting System and Leather Digital Cutting System, it forms a seamless closed-loop workflow that significantly reduces reliance on senior hide inspectors and nesting specialists, improves leather utilization, and lowers labor costs.

The AI hide inspection device can complete the inspection of a single hide in approximately 7–10 seconds and supports both fully automatic and manual operation modes. It is compatible with various types of leather, including full-grain, split-grain, and suede.

ACLE 2026

Many visiting factory professionals brought real shop-floor challenges to discuss. They observed live sample-cutting results up close and exchanged insights on practical pathways toward intelligent factory transformation.

03 What Is the Foundational Competitiveness of Leather Manufacturing?

Globally, the competitive landscape of the leather industry has fundamentally shifted.

Competition is no longer limited to sourcing raw materials but centers on maximizing the value extracted from every single hide.

Intelligent manufacturing is no longer an optional “luxury” reserved only for top-tier enterprises. It has become an essential capability for factories to safeguard profitability and respond nimbly to changing market dynamics.

ACLE 2026

GBOS remains deeply committed to the field of intelligent leather manufacturing, delivering practical, factory-ready solutions that empower leather enterprises to build future-proof core competitiveness.
