The SIMAC TANNING TECH exhibition in Milan is a world-leading event for the footwear, leather goods, and leather manufacturing industries.
Bringing together leading global manufacturers, end-brand clients, and supply chain professionals, SIMAC provides an important platform for observing cutting-edge technologies, equipment, and industry trends, offering a comprehensive view of the evolution of the global leather industry.
GBOS, a long-standing leader in intelligent cutting solutions, once again made its presence felt at this prestigious international exhibition, showcasing its latest technological breakthroughs on the global stage.
01 Aligning with the Diverse and Flexible Production Needs of the Global Leather Industry
The global leather consumer market continues to evolve rapidly. Product categories are constantly expanding, with athletic footwear, formal leather shoes, safety boots, handbags and luggage, automotive interiors, home upholstery, and other segments all experiencing continued growth. At the same time, mixed-material production, involving genuine leather, composite materials, and pre-formed fabrics, has become increasingly common across the industry.
As a result, industrial demands have become increasingly clear. Manufacturers are seeking leaner production lines, lower equipment and facility investment, and greater adaptability across diverse application scenarios. Traditional production models that rely on multiple machines for different product categories can no longer fully meet today’s flexible and diversified global order requirements. Integrated, lightweight intelligent production solutions have therefore become an increasingly important need for global leather manufacturers.
02 On-Site at SIMAC: Real-World Sampling and Direct Engagement with Global Demand
At this year’s exhibition, GBOS focused on the industry’s most pressing challenges, presenting its full suite of intelligent cutting solutions to leather factories, brand owners, and supply chain service providers from around the world.
Throughout the exhibition, numerous international visitors engaged in in-depth discussions at the GBOS booth about their production line configurations, material processing requirements, and order structures. Many visitors also brought original factory materials for live on-machine sampling, allowing them to directly verify cutting accuracy and equipment compatibility.
These hands-on interactions provided a clear reflection of the global market’s growing demand for lightweight, integrated cutting systems.
A key highlight of GBOS’s participation in SIMAC 2026 was the European premiere of the gantry-type Multi-functional Digital Cutting System, VC9-3080T.
Designed to address common industry challenges such as excessive equipment stacking, large equipment footprints, and high capital expenditure, the machine enables the processing of both leather and auxiliary materials on a single platform, eliminating the need for separate equipment procurement and dual-site setup.
Engineered to process both full-grain and split leather, the VC9-3080T supports AI VisionScan System-guided cutting, roll-fed material processing, and re-cutting of thermoformed materials. It covers mainstream applications including footwear, luggage and bags, automotive interiors, and home soft furnishings, providing one-machine adaptability for today’s multi-category and flexible global production needs.
Moreover, the system supports scalable configurations with up to 3-head or 4-head asynchronous operation. Adding cutting heads can further increase capacity, efficiency, and precision.
03 Deepening the Globalization of Intelligent Manufacturing and Empowering Worldwide Industrial Upgrading
As the global leather industry continues to evolve, intelligent equipment remains a key foundation for industrial upgrading.
With the continued integration of global industrial chains, “Made in China” intelligence is actively contributing to the transformation of manufacturing worldwide, and GBOS remains committed to advancing this development.
With years of R&D expertise in intelligent leather cutting, GBOS leverages its strong domestic technological foundation to continuously refine intelligent solutions that are adaptable to global markets.
Through the SIMAC platform, GBOS brings mature, field-proven, and highly cost-effective Chinese intelligent manufacturing equipment and technical expertise to overseas markets. These solutions help global manufacturers optimize production lines, reduce costs, and enhance their flexible production capabilities.
Looking ahead, GBOS will continue to deepen its focus on specialized segments, uphold independent R&D, and advance the globalization of intelligent manufacturing. By bringing robust “Made in China” capabilities to global markets, GBOS aims to meet evolving market demands and continuously contribute to the high-quality development of the global leather industry.
